Picklists have special restrictions when it comes to using them in formulas. Although the final solution was pretty straightforward, I struggled with this until I found this helpful link. Here is the formula I used to check if the picklist value is empty before adding it to the formula field:

IF(ISBLANK(TEXT(CustomPicklistField1__c)),”None”,TEXT(CustomPicklistField1__c)) &
IF(ISBLANK(TEXT(CustomPicklistField2__c)), “”, ” – ” & TEXT(CustomPicklistField2__c)) &
IF(ISBLANK(TEXT(CustomPicklistField3__c)),”",” – ” & TEXT(CustomPicklistField3__c))

Artwork for The Crazy Ivans album Dive!

I finally finished the artwork for The Crazy Ivans and I am really pleased with the results. It was a lot of fun to start painting again. Trying to get just the right “underwater” lighting and color scheme was challenging but a really interesting project. Plus, it is always fun to throw in a couple of creepy underwater monsters. I had just finished reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea so it was a given that there had to be lots of tentacles and at least a hint of a lost civilization Unfortunately, my laptop was stolen soon after I had the artwork printed so I don’t have the original artwork anymore. I was able to salvage some of my work from email thank goodness. Take a look and let me know what you think, and go to The Crazy Ivans MySpace page to listen to some great music!
